Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszkova won the title of Miss World 2024 at a lavish ceremony on Saturday at the Jio World Cinema in Mumbai. At the glamorous event, Poland’s Karolina Bielawska, the previous Miss World, named her successor.
Krystyna, 25 won the Best Fashion Designer Award – Europe in addition to her titles. She defeated competitors like Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon, Botswana’s Lesego Chombo, Trinidad & Tobago’s Aché Abrahams, and India’s Sini Shetty.
Krystyna works as a model in addition to pursuing dual degrees in Business Administration and Law. According to the Miss World website, she founded the Krystyna Pyszko Foundation and continues to be actively involved in its projects.

She also emphasized on the value of sustainability by revealing that recyclable materials were used to make her national attire. Pyszková, who plays the violin and transverse flute and is also very passionate about the arts, encouraged young ladies to believe in themselves and cultivate a winning mindset. Additionally, she established a foundation in the Czech Republic that provides educational initiatives for young people, the elderly, and those with mental health disorders.
Yasmina Zaytoun, a Miss Lebanon, was named the first runner-up, while Lesego Chombo and Aché Abrahams are second runners-up, following Pyszkova. Sini Shetty, a 22-year-old from India, which hosted the event after 28 years, was also one of the best contestants. Shetty, who was crowned 2022 Femina Miss India World from Mumbai, was not able to advance to the top 4.
India’s Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017) are the six winners of the prestigious title. The Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai whch hosted the 71st Miss World pageant witnessed contestants from 112 countries worldwide.
