Assam Youth Among Seven Killed in Bengaluru Wall Collapse During Storm

In a tragic incident that has shocked many, an 18-year-old youth from Assam’s Cachar district was among seven people killed after a wall collapsed in Bengaluru during heavy rain and strong winds.
The deceased has been identified as Akhtar Hussain Laskar, also known as Naseem, a resident of Rupaibali village under Shibpur Gram Panchayat in Sonai, Cachar.
According to reports, the incident occurred on April 29 in Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar area. Akhtar was returning home from work when heavy rainfall forced him and several others to take shelter under a temporary roadside structure.
During this time, an old boundary wall of a nearby hospital collapsed due to intense winds, crushing those who had taken refuge. Akhtar and six others, including a child, lost their lives on the spot.
Family in Shock Back in Assam
Akhtar had moved to Bengaluru at a young age in search of work to support his family. He was the sole breadwinner and had been working tirelessly to provide for his loved ones.
His family revealed that he was also helping care for his father, who is currently battling cancer. The sudden loss has left the family devastated.
News of the tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over Rupaibali village in Cachar, where relatives and residents are mourning the untimely death of the young worker.
