In a proactive move to maintain electoral integrity, the Static Surveillance Team conducted successful operations at the Bogibeel check post in Assam’s Dibrugarh district, resulting in the seizure of significant amounts of cash from two vehicles.
Notably, a total of Rs 2.58 lakh in cash was intercepted from the vehicles passing through the checkpost. The first vehicle, bearing registration number AS 01FT 7861 and originating from Dhemaji District, was found carrying Rs 1,57,000 in cash. The second vehicle, with registration number AS 12AE 5190 and originating from Samguri, Nagaon, was found with Rs 1,01,600 in cash. The individuals associated with these vehicles were identified as Ataur Rahman and Mostafa Hussain, who were detained for further investigation.
In a separate operation, the Flying Squad Team intercepted a vehicle from Longding in Arunachal Pradesh’s Dhuwapathar village, seizing 2.75 litres of liquor. This enforcement action underscores the commitment of authorities to curb the illicit flow of alcohol during the electoral process.
