Assam has taken centre stage in India’s digital transformation journey by successfully hosting the National Digital Innovation Residential Summit 2025 at Vivanta Taj, Guwahati. Organised by the state’s Information Technology Department in partnership with Elets Technomedia, the summit gathered more than 50 distinguished speakers and senior officials from over 20 states, symbolising India’s united push toward future-ready, tech-driven governance.
Principal Secretary K. S. Gopinath Narayan chaired the event, alongside Additional Secretary IT & Director DITEC Ashwani Kumar, IAS, and Elets Technomedia Founder & CEO Dr Ravi Gupta. Together, they led focused conversations on AI-enabled policy making, digital infrastructure, governance reforms, and India’s emergence as a global innovation hub.
Prominent Assam officials including Additional Chief Secretaries Biswaranjan Samal and B. Kalyan Chakravarthy, and Special Chief Secretary Syedain Abbasi partnered with national dignitaries such as NEC Secretary Satinder Kumar Bhalla, Gauhati High Court’s Justice Soumitra Saikia, and senior administrators from multiple sectors across states like Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, J&K, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh.
Dr Ravi Gupta commended Assam’s rapid digital progress, calling the state a national model for citizen-centric governance. Highlighting major achievements, Ashwani Kumar, IAS, noted the delivery of over 900 services on the Unified Assam Portal under Sewa Setu and more than 500 services enabled through DigiLocker, reflecting a strong focus on transparency, accessibility and secure service delivery.
Key summit sessions explored AI-led governance models, semiconductor innovation, digital trade, and technology-backed service ecosystems. Industry giants including Google Cloud, Indian Bank, Salesforce, AMD, CDAC, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, and others strengthened the collaborative mission through their participation.
The summit concluded with renewed national partnerships and a collective vision to build an inclusive, intelligent and citizen-first digital India — with Assam prominently positioned as a frontrunner in driving next-generation governance reform.
