The Assam government has achieved a significant milestone by providing 1.45 lakh government jobs, exceeding its original commitment of one lakh appointments. This unprecedented recruitment drive marks the largest employment generation effort in the state’s history.
Alongside this achievement, the government announced a 3% reservation for the tea garden community in government services. This quota applies to Grade I and Grade II posts and will be maintained consistently in future recruitment exams, including the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE). This move aims to promote social inclusion and ensure representation of the tea community in key administrative roles.

In addition to job creation, the state has focused on expanding medical education. The number of medical seats has increased from six to 30, with plans to add 14 more seats next year. These initiatives reflect the government’s broader commitment to employment generation, educational development, and equitable representation for all communities in Assam.
