On Monday, a Mi-19 helicopter service was inaugurated by Joint Magistrate Ashish Mishra at Naini Saini Airport in Uttarakhand district, providing access to the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat peaks.
In the past, visiting these sacred locations has always posed a formidable task, requiring either a long and arduous journey on foot or a combination of car travel and walking, limited to particular time periods from May to June or September to October. However, in a significant development, Trip to Temples has successfully organized the first-ever helicopter flight, allowing 18 pilgrims to embark on this momentous expedition. This remarkable feat marks the beginning of a new era, where accessibility to these sacred sites is being revolutionized.
Adi Kailash, situated in the magnificent Vyas Valley, holds great significance as the second abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Om Parvat, bordering India, Nepal, and Tibet, stands as a natural wonder, sculpted into a perfect “Om” symbol. Previously, the closest vantage point to view Om Parvat was Nabhidang, located 11 km from the Old Lipu Lekh Pass, necessitating a challenging trek.
Sky One Airways will operate the journey to Jolingkong, which will last for two hours and require a payment of ₹ 40,000 per person, excluding GST. The visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to witness the Adi Kailash peak in October last year resulted in an increase in the appeal of this sacred location among both religious followers and travellers.
