The unveiling of Team India’s new T20 jersey took place on Monday, in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States and the West Indies.

When posting the video showcasing the latest jersey on Instagram, Adidas stated: “One jersey. One Nation. Presenting the new Team India T20 jersey. Available in stores and online from 7th May, at 10:00 am.”

The German athletic apparel company’s 20-second video clip garnered almost 600,000 likes within a span of two hours after being posted on Instagram.

The video commences by capturing Rohit Sharma wearing an orange hoodie, followed by the appearance of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Subsequently, all three individuals direct their gaze towards the sky, while the camera then shifts its focus to a helicopter transporting the new jersey. This captivating scene unfolds against the picturesque backdrop of Dharmshala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

The introduction of the orange hue in the jersey was met with a negative reception on social media, as many users linked the alteration to the governing party.

The team’s new jersey offers a wide range of variations, whether it be in terms of colour combinations or design. Unlike the old jersey, which was entirely blue, the recent edition features a combination of blue and orange.

The jersey proudly displays three white Adidas stripes and a tricolour on the V-neckline. In the previous version, the Dream 11 logo could be found on the sleeves, but this time it is only located on the front, above the word ‘India’. The BCCI emblem on the jersey is adorned with a single star above it, symbolizing India’s victory in the T20 World Cup in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
