Daniel Balaji, a renowned Tamil actor, tragically succumbed to a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday. At the age of 48, he breathed his last at the Kottivakam hospital, where he had been admitted following complaints of chest pain.

Daniel Balaji was famous for his role in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Currently, his final rituals are being held in Chennai, with renowned personalities like Vetrimaaran and Gautham Vasudev Menon present. Both fans and celebrities have expressed their heartfelt condolences and paid tribute to Balaji.

Daniel Balaji began his professional journey as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s incomplete film ‘Marudhunayagam’. Later, he transitioned to television through Radikaa Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithhi’, playing a character named Daniel, which led to him adopting the screen name, Daniel Balaji.

Kamal Haasan, who portrayed the main character opposite Balaji in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, expressed in writing that Balaji’s legacy will endure beyond his passing as a result of his choice to donate his eyes. He composed a detailed message in Tamil, which conveys, “The unexpected loss of brother Daniel Balaji is truly distressing. The sorrow of untimely deaths is profound. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to Balaji’s loved ones, friends, and supporters. Through the act of eye donation, he will continue to exist even after his demise. I pay my respects to Balaji, who has illuminated lives.”
