Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi, a 26-year-old masters’ student from India, has been reported missing in Chicago, US, since May 2. His family, based in Hyderabad, is deeply concerned about his disappearance and is actively engaged in efforts to find him.
The Consulate General of India in Chicago, in collaboration with the local police of the city, has initiated a search mission to find Chintakindi, a student enrolled at Concordia University in Wisconsin.
Several Indian students have gone missing in the US recently, including Mohammad Abdul from Ohio, who was found dead after being missing for nearly a month, and Uma Satya Sai Gadde, another Indian student found deceased in Ohio just a week prior to Abdul’s death.
Concerns arose for Rupesh Chintakindi’s whereabouts when his family reached out to his housemates. Chintakindi had planned to meet someone from Texas, whose identity remains unknown, according to his roommates. His last contact with family was on May 2.
The student’s father notified both the police and the US Embassy, and also reached out to G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of the North Eastern Region of India, seeking assistance in locating his son.
