Saudi Arabia has taken a step towards joining the Miss Universe pageant for the very first time, a decision made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud in an effort to transform the country’s ultra-conservative reputation.
Rumy Alqahtani, a renowned runway model hailing from Riyadh, has been chosen to represent Saudi Arabia in the upcoming international pageant scheduled for later this year. With a remarkable track record of winning numerous beauty pageants worldwide, Alqahtani has firmly established herself as a prominent figure in the modelling industry.
Rumy Alqahtani is 27 years old and holds a Dental Bachelor’s degree, she has fluency in three languages, Arabic, French, and English. She has achieved numerous accolades, including being crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East, Miss Arab World Peace, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia). Additionally, she has proudly represented Saudi Arabia in several esteemed international competitions such as Miss Asia in Malaysia, Miss Arab Peace, and Miss Europe.
Alqahtani posted on Instagram about the exciting news of Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant. She shared a photo of herself wearing a stunning silver sequin gown, proudly displaying the Miss Universe Saudi Arabia sash, while standing next to the Saudi flag. This year’s pageant will be happening in Mexico in September, 2024.
