The Delhi High Court has deferred Rajpal Yadav’s bail hearing to February 16, prolonging uncertainty about the actor’s immediate legal future. According to court proceedings, Yadav’s counsel informed the bench that he had been unable to contact the actor despite repeated attempts. The lawyer confirmed that a bail application has already been filed and sought additional time to serve responses to the opposing party, assuring the court that detailed arguments will be presented on the next hearing date.

During the hearing, the High Court took a stern view of Rajpal Yadav’s past repayment assurances. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma observed that the actor had repeatedly committed to clearing his dues but failed to deposit any amount. The court noted that promises were made on multiple occasions without concrete financial action.

The bench also questioned the prolonged delay in repayment. Judges pointed out that despite assurances to repay over Rs 3 crore, the matter has stretched across numerous adjournments, with no meaningful settlement achieved.

This legal battle stems from a cheque bounce case linked to a loan taken for Yadav’s film production over a decade ago. With accumulated interest and penalties, the liability reportedly rose sharply, leading to conviction and jail time, and ultimately his surrender after appeals were exhausted.
