Who knew a simple twist on a popular song could cost as much as a luxury car? In the world of Bollywood, creativity knows no bounds and apparently, neither do the expenses that come with it. In a recent revelation, Abhishek Banerjee spilled the beans on how Rajkummar Rao’s spontaneous addition of an English song in his newly launched movie ‘Stree 2’ set the production team back by a whopping ₹25 lakh. Yes, you read that right just for a little musical flair!

In the buzzworthy Stree 2, actor Rajkummar Rao took his improvisational skills to new heights, giving a unique twist to the hit English song ‘Calm Down’ by Rema and Selena Gomez. The scene, where Rao casually chills on his bike with headphones on, may seem simple, but it added an unexpectedly hefty price tag to the film’s production costs.

Abhishek Banerjee, his co-star, recently revealed this behind-the-scenes tidbit in an interview. While praising Rao’s quick thinking, Banerjee humorously shared how he initially thought the idea was all Rao’s, only to later realize it was actually his own brainchild that had slipped his mind.

What really got tongues wagging, though, was the financial aftermath of this creative choice. The rights for the song’s usage racked up an impressive ₹25 lakh bill; proof that a little spontaneity can go a long way, both on-screen and in the budget. Banerjee didn’t shy away from acknowledging the financial stakes involved, reminding us that in film production, every artistic decision carries its own price.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has made a splash at the box office. The horror-comedy, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has struck a chord with audiences thanks to its fresh ideas and standout performances. And with surprise cameos from Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan, it’s no wonder the film continues to rake in the accolades.
