Harpal Singh Cheema, the Finance Minister of Punjab, announced that a gathering was organized by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration led by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, aiming to secure victory in all 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in the forthcoming elections.
Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is poised to secure victory in all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab. He highlighted that the party has successfully delivered on four key promises within the past two years. Notably, every household has received 300 units of complimentary electricity, resulting in nearly zero electricity bills for 90 percent of households. Furthermore, Mohalla clinics have been established across Punjab, and families of deceased soldiers are receiving financial assistance of up to ₹1 crore. Additionally, 13,000 teachers who were previously employed on temporary contracts have now been granted permanent positions.
The claim was made that the BJP is exploiting central agencies, with the additional accusation that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest was unjust. It was asserted that the farmer movement originated in Punjab, resulting in over 750 farmer casualties. It was also stated that the farmers are planning to resume their protests, as the BJP is believed to have imposed an unofficial state of emergency in the nation.
Sandeep Pathak, MP Sanjay Singh, and Buddha Raj, who are senior leaders, were also present in the meeting. Punjab has a total of 13 Lok Sabha seats, out of which four seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Congress-led UPA alliance emerged victorious in 8 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) managed to secure four seats. The AAP, participating in the state for the first time, won one seat.
