As the youngest daughter of Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari and former prime minister late Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has entered the turbulent political landscape of her nation by submitting a candidacy for a by-election to fill her father’s National Assembly seat in Sindh Province.
Aseefa, who is 31 years old, has already proven throughout time that she is involved in politics. Her father Zardari, who is also the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairperson, had previously refrained her from entering parliamentary politics, preferring to wait for the right opportunity.
Aseefa will take on the role of First Lady, which is customarily assumed by the president’s wife, following her father’s inauguration as Pakistan’s 14th president. In the byelection for the NA-207 seat in the Shaheed Benzirabad district of Sindh province, Aseefa filed her candidacy papers on Sunday. Her father Asif Ali Zardari, got the president’s position but left it vacant when he was elected.
