The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stirred political waves by issuing summons to Delhi Transport Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kailash Gahlot in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. This development comes in the wake of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent arrest by the ED in the same case on March 21.

Sources reveal that the probe agency has summoned Minister Kailash Gahlot for questioning as part of its ongoing money laundering investigation linked to the Delhi excise policy. The move underscores the widening scope of the investigation and the heightened scrutiny faced by key figures in the AAP administration.

In a show of solidarity, AAP leader and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai announced that prominent leaders from the INDIA alliance would participate in a rally at Ramlila Maidan on March 31 to support Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Rai highlighted the nationwide reactions to Kejriwal’s arrest and emphasized the significant presence of leaders from various political factions in the upcoming rally.

Notable figures such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Akhilesh Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, Bhagwant Mann, Champai Soren, Tejashwi Yadav, and Sitaram Yechury are confirmed to join the rally, amplifying the show of solidarity across party lines.

However, amidst the political tumult, the Hindu Sena has filed a fresh petition in the Delhi High Court seeking the removal of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from office. The petition calls for Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor to dismiss Kejriwal and advocate for central government administration via the LG.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, has launched a WhatsApp campaign titled ‘Kejriwal ko Aashirwaad’ in a video statement, aiming to garner public support amid the ongoing legal battle. This comes as the Rouse Avenue Court extends Kejriwal’s custodial remand by four more days in the money laundering case related to the Excise Policy.

Kejriwal, in court, vehemently denies allegations, attributing the investigation to a political vendetta aimed at crushing the Aam Aadmi Party. He asserts that despite the two-year-long investigation, no allegations have been substantiated.

In response to Kejriwal’s arrest, the INDIA bloc plans to stage a protest outside the BJP headquarters in the national capital, with participation expected from Congress, AAP, and Left parties, further intensifying the political showdown in Delhi.
