Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his backing for BJP candidate Atul Garg during a roadshow held in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday.
Modi’s roadshow has commenced from Chaudhary Mod in Gandhi Nagar, Ghaziabad and conclude at Maliwara Chowk in Naya Ganj. The purpose of this roadshow is to garner support for Atul Garg, the BJP’s candidate for the Lok Sabha. It is expected that over two lakh individuals will be present at this event. As per the traffic advisory, the Ghaziabad Police plans to thoroughly examine every vehicle entering the area.
From 1 pm on April 6, all routes connecting Chaudhary Mod and Lal Kuan, Atmaram Steel and Diamond, Alt intersection and Meerut Tiraha, Tulsi Niketan and Karangate roundabout, Jalnigam T-point and Meerut trisection, Vasundhara Bridge and Mohannagar, and Seemapuri and Mohannagar was fully closed to heavy and commercial vehicles. The traffic police have also announced that city buses and public transportation will not face any restrictions in their movement starting from 2:00 pm. Furthermore, autos and e-rickshaws will not be allowed in certain areas starting from 3:30 pm.
While the prime minister’s car made its way down the road, crowds gathered on either side to throw flowers and chant slogans. Along the route, paintings were hung up, one of which depicted his mother Hiraben giving him her blessing. Additionally, a tableau featuring Lord Ram and Sita was on display.
