A passenger on a Bangkok-London trip attempted suicide in mid-air, forcing an emergency landing of the aircraft. As the Bangkok-bound flight, EVA Air Flight BR67, descended at London’s Heathrow Airport, cabin crew members noticed that one of the passengers was still in the restroom.
Both the passenger’s identity and the reason for the attempt are still a mystery. The passenger received first aid from crew members and an onboard physician. When the aircraft touched down, medical staff was waiting to take the passenger to a hospital at around 7:30 pm local time. As of right now, there are no updates regarding the passenger’s status.
Although EVA Air acknowledged the occurrence, it has not addressed inquiries for comment or offered any additional information. A flight was diverted earlier this year due to another issue. A brawl between passengers on a Ryanair flight from the UK to Spain in January caused the aircraft to make an unplanned landing in Portugal.
