Justice Begins at Home

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have demolished the residences of two terrorists allegedly involved in the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists. The house of Adil Hussain Thoker, associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, was destroyed using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Bijbehara. In a parallel operation, the home of another terrorist, Asif Sheikh, was demolished by bulldozers in Tral.

Adil Thoker is believed to have played a crucial role in the planning and execution of the Baisaran Valley attack. He had traveled to Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border in 2018 and received training in terror camps before returning to the Valley. Authorities suspect his involvement in facilitating Pakistani terrorists who carried out the deadly assault.

As the investigation continues, Anantnag Police have announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Thoker. Two other suspects, identified as Pakistani nationals Ali Bhai and Hashim Musa, are also being hunted by security forces in connection with the incident.

According to intelligence inputs, the terrorists emerged from the pine forest area surrounding the Baisaran Valley and launched a sudden attack on tourists. They were equipped with body cameras and helmet-mounted gear to record their actions. Survivors have reported that the attackers selectively targeted non-Muslim tourists after checking their identity documents.

The brutal killings have intensified diplomatic friction between India and Pakistan. The Indian government has blamed Pakistan for sheltering and training terrorists responsible for the massacre. In response, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, downgraded diplomatic ties, and revoked all existing visas issued to Pakistani citizens.

The Pahalgam attack has been marked as one of the most devastating terror strikes in Kashmir in recent years. A large-scale manhunt and combing operation is underway to track down the remaining perpetrators and dismantle the terror network involved in the carnage.
