The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the identification and arrest of the bomber responsible for the blast at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe. Emphasizing confidentiality, the agency released a picture of the bomber captured from CCTV footage, urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.
The bomber, seen wearing a cap, black pants, and black shoes in the released image, is sought in connection with the explosion that occurred on March 1 at the popular eatery in Bengaluru’s Brookfield area, injuring several people during the busy lunch hour.
The NIA has requested informants to share information through mail at “info.blr.nia@gov.in” or contact two provided numbers: 080-29510900 and 8904241100. The agency’s declaration of the reward follows the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) handing over the probe to the NIA on March 3, after an NIA team visited the blast site.
Previously, the Bengaluru Police had registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act, indicating the use of an IED device with a timer in the explosion. With investigations ongoing, the NIA seeks public cooperation to apprehend the suspect and ensure justice for the victims of the blast.
