Prime Minister Modi’s recent response carries significant weight as it directly addresses Rahul Gandhi’s consistent allegations against the Narendra Modi government, particularly his accusations of favoritism towards top industrialists.

During a rally in Telangana, Prime Minister Modi pointedly questioned Rahul Gandhi’s sudden silence on his “Ambani-Adani” rhetoric ever since the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections. He highlighted Gandhi’s shift from his earlier focus on the Rafale issue to targeting five specific industrialists, notably Ambani and Adani. Modi challenged Gandhi to reveal any financial dealings with these industrialists, suggesting a possible hidden agenda behind the sudden change in rhetoric.

The timing and location of Modi’s response are noteworthy. Telangana, a state governed by the Congress party, recently inked several MoUs with the Adani Group, signaling a practical collaboration between the state and the very industrialists Gandhi has been criticizing.

The BJP has capitalized on Gandhi’s verbal assaults on wealthy individuals and industrialists, even citing instances where party members were pressured to criticize figures like Gautam Adani. Modi further criticized Gandhi’s tendency to stir controversies during election seasons, recalling his previous focus on the Rafale deal ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Modi’s retort not only challenges Gandhi’s narrative but also underscores the BJP’s stance on supporting wealth creators and industrial development, contrasting sharply with the Congress’s approach.
