On Wednesday, the Florida Republican Party revealed that 18-year-old Barron Trump will be one of the individuals choosing Donald Trump as the party’s presidential nominee.
Barron Trump, the son of former US President Donald Trump, has opted out of the delegate role he was recently given for the forthcoming presidential election procedures. This move comes in the wake of criticism that ensued shortly after his initial nomination.
Melania Trump’s office released a statement regarding her son Barron’s selection as a delegate for the Florida Republican Party. The statement expressed gratitude for the honour but declined the invitation on Barron’s behalf due to prior commitments. This decision effectively halted plans for Barron’s participation in the convention in Milwaukee, where Donald Trump was to be officially nominated as the Republican candidate for the presidential election, with delegates from each state designating their candidate.
Other Trump family members, such as Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, have been chosen as delegates. It is worth mentioning that this would have been Barron Trump’s initial involvement in politics under the public eye. The Republican National Committee is set to host its convention in Milwaukee in July.
Donald Trump is considering revealing his choice for a running mate during the RNC convention in July, as he has been discussing various names publicly and privately. Recently, the ex-President discussed his bond with his youngest son, but did not touch upon his son’s role as a delegate. During a radio interview, he commended Barron Trump and mentioned that his 18-year-old son occasionally provides him with political guidance.
Furthermore, amidst ongoing litigation regarding hush money, Donald Trump has been authorized by a judge to attend his son Barron’s upcoming graduation ceremony.
Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of Donald Trump, served as a senior advisor during his initial term as President, working closely with her husband Jared Kushner. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump frequently appeared at Trump rallies and actively participated in the campaign. In March, Lara Trump, Eric’s wife, was appointed to a leadership role within the Republican National Committee.
