To ensure the welfare of crucial polling personnel ahead of the upcoming 3rd Phase Elections in Assam, a proactive step has been taken. A medical check-up camp has been established at the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) specifically for drivers and conductors who are responsible for transporting election officials to the polling stations.

The objective of this joint endeavour involving the district administration, the Joint Director, and the Assam State Transport Corporation is to tackle possible health issues among individuals who play a vital role in the electoral process.

The medical camp, scheduled on May 5 and 6, provides a wide array of health assessments, encompassing vital screenings and eye examinations. This initiative highlights the dedication of authorities in proactively addressing health concerns, especially as polling personnel venture into remote regions with limited access to medical facilities.

The importance of this health camp was highlighted by the Assistant Commissioner, who pointed out that drivers and conductors frequently do not have the time for routine medical check-ups. This program provides a vital chance for them to receive eye and health screenings, guaranteeing that they are able to fulfil their responsibilities competently and look after their health during this crucial time.

The essential health checks provided for drivers and conductors serve to safeguard their well-being and ensure the smooth functioning of the electoral process. With Assam gearing up for the 3rd Phase Elections on May 7th, encompassing four key constituencies-Dhubri, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, and Barpeta-the timely organization of this medical camp underscores the meticulous planning and dedication of authorities in facilitating a safe and efficient electoral process.
