Four individuals in various regions of Kerala tragically lost their lives after participating in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, which commenced on Friday.

A voter who was 68 years old collapsed in Ottapalam, Palakkad, after casting his vote. Despite being immediately taken to the hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival, as reported by the news website. On Friday, Ottapalam experienced a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and 39% humidity.

Left Democratic Front polling agent Anees Ahmed (66) was swiftly transported to the hospital after he fainted at booth number 16 in Kozhikode Town. Tragically, despite efforts, he could not be resuscitated, according to Mathurbhumi.com. The weather in Kozhikode recorded a high of 33 degrees Celsius with 61% humidity on Friday.

In Tirur, located in Malappuram district, a 63-year-old madrassa teacher passed away upon arriving home after casting his vote in the Lok Sabha elections. On Friday, Tirur experienced a temperature of 34 degrees Celsius and humidity levels of 60%.

A 76-year-old man from Ambalappuzha district’s Alappuzha died after coming back home from casting his vote. On Friday, Ambalappuzha experienced a temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and humidity levels of 68%.

As of 3 pm in Kerala, the voter turnout stood at approximately 50%. Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha polls witnessed all 20 constituencies actively participating in the voting process.
