A fierce gunbattle in the Gudar forest area of Kulgam district has entered its second day, resulting in the deaths of two Indian Army soldiers and two terrorists.
The operation commenced on Monday after security forces launched a search based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists. Upon approaching the area, the terrorists opened fire, leading to an intense exchange. Two soldiers, Subedar Perbhat Gaur and Lance Naik Narender Sindhu, were critically injured and later succumbed to their injuries. An Army major was also injured but is reported to be in stable condition.
