Two months after undergoing abdominal surgery, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, revealed on Friday that she had been diagnosed with cancer. She stated that her treatment was in its early stages and that she was receiving chemotherapy for the illness.
She doesn’t have any royal or aristocratic ancestry, yet she always seemed to be able to handle the rigors of royal life, and she rose to prominence as one of the family’s most adored members.
When Kate underwent stomach surgery in January, her illness was believed to be non-cancerous. After a successful surgery, post-operative testing revealed the presence of cancer. It is unknown if the abdominal surgery had anything to do with the cancer. As per privacy of the royal family it has not been revealed what kind of cancer is she suffering from.
William and Kate made the decision to disclose the news at a time that they believed was suitable for their family. It is known that Kate desired the opportunity to process her diagnosis and adjust to her recovery and cancer treatment. The announcement on March 22 was specifically timed to coincide with George, Charlotte, and Louis’s Easter break. The couple wanted their children to have privacy as the news was shared with the rest of the world.
