In a surprising new twist, Kartik Aaryan is set to slither into the role of a shape-shifting snake in his upcoming fantasy comedy, Naagzilla. The movie, set to release on Nag Panchami, August 14, 2026, marks a new collaboration between Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
Kartik, who will be portraying Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an ichadaari naag (shape-shifting serpent), took to Instagram to share his excitement for the film. His post read, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh leen, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar. #Naagzilla: Naag lok ka pehla kaand. Funnn phailaane Aa raha hu main, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki. Sssssinemas mein. 14 August 2025 ko.”
The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and written by Gautam Mehra, marking Aaryan’s second collaboration with Dharma Productions, following their much-awaited Valentine’s Day release, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri. This also becomes the first joint venture between Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films.
Produced by an ensemble team including Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain, Naagzilla promises to offer a fresh blend of fantasy and comedy with a dash of adventure.
The film, which will see Aaryan in a never-seen-before role, is expected to bring a new wave of humor and fantasy to Indian cinema. With its unique storyline and imaginative visuals, Naagzilla is certainly one to watch out for on its release in 2026.
