Kangana Ranaut, the BJP candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, who is also an actor-turned-politician, dismissed a claim made by a Congress leader that she had consumed beef in the past, asserting that she is a devout Hindu.
Kangana Ranaut’s statement follows shortly after Vijay Wadettiwar, the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly, accused the actress of claiming to consume beef in the past, yet she was still endorsed by the BJP for the elections.
Ms. Ranaut expressed her abstinence from consuming beef or any other form of red meat. She expressed her disappointment towards the unfounded rumors being circulated about her, considering it to be a shameful act. For several decades, she has been actively advocating and promoting the yogic and Ayurvedic way of life. Ms. Ranaut firmly believes that such tactics employed to tarnish her image will not succeed. She trusts that her followers are well aware of her true character and identity as a proud Hindu, and no misleading information can ever sway their judgment.
