The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has chosen a total of eight students from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), located in Burla, Sambalpur district, to take part in the Student CanSat Launch Competition 2024.
The research institution extends an invitation to students to engage in the creation and construction of space-oriented systems, with a particular emphasis on small satellites. These satellites are required to be designed to fit within a compact framework, measuring 66mm in diameter and 15mm in height. The forthcoming event, known as the Student CanSat Launch Competition 2024, will be orchestrated by ISRO in the city of Ahmedabad, located in the state of Gujarat. This competition is scheduled to take place on the 16th and 17th of April.
Swagat Sekhar Panda, Debankar Subhram, Pallabi Parimita Nayak, Inayatulla Khan, Subhankar Nayak, Faizur Rahman, Ayushman Jena, and Subhranshu Ranjan Das are eight students who are bringing honour to Odisha and VSSUT.
The members of the ‘Young Tinker Space’ club at VSSUT are actively engaged in the design and production of satellites, with each individual bringing their unique expertise to the project. This student organization aims to prepare its members for participation in similar competitions. Previously, the teams participated in NASA’s Rover Challenge held in the United States in 2021 and 2023.
