In the midst of a rise in violence in Canada, a man of Indian descent, who held a prominent position as a builder and was the leader of the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Edmonton, Canada, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Boota Singh Gill. Edmonton Police have confirmed that the incident occurred at a construction site in the province of Alberta.

Edmonton authorities swiftly arrived at the location following a report of a shooting incident, where they found three men wounded. Regrettably, the two individuals, aged 49 and 57, tragically lost their lives due to their injuries. However, a 51-year-old man endured severe, life-threatening wounds and was promptly taken to the hospital under the care of paramedics.

An investigation has been launched by the authorities regarding this issue. There are reports of threats being made to other builders in Edmonton, as well as incidents of arson targeting newly built homes. Previously, during a press briefing in January, the Edmonton police had revealed that a criminal organization based in India is responsible for a string of extortions aimed at home builders within the South Asian community in Edmonton.
