The 5th Edition of the Joint Military Exercise ‘DUSTLIK’ between India and Uzbekistan is scheduled to take place in Termez District, Uzbekistan from 15 to 28 April 2024. The Indian Armed Forces and Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan will come together to enhance cooperation and build a strong framework for future military engagements. The Indian and Uzbekistan armies conducted their fourth joint military exercise on February 20 of the preceding year at the Foreign Training Node in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.

The Ministry of Defence has stated that the recent 14-day joint training exercise conducted by the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Uzbekistan Army, focused on sharing best practices in sub conventional operations. The Additional Directorate General of Public Information has reported that the exercise was carried out under a UN mandate. A total of forty-five soldiers from both armies took part in this exercise, with the primary objective of strengthening the bilateral relations between the two forces.

The Indian Army contingent comprises soldiers from an infantry battalion belonging to the Garhwal Rifles Regiment. The first iteration of the drill occurred in Uzbekistan in November 2019.
