India and China recently engaged in another round of diplomatic discussions regarding the disengagement in the Ladakh sector of the Line of Actual Control (LAC). However, despite these talks, there were no indications of any significant progress in resolving the ongoing standoff that originated nearly four years ago.

The 29th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) took place in Beijing, the capital of China. The Indian delegation, led by the MEA Joint Secretary, and the Chinese delegation, led by the Director General of the Boundary & Oceanic Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the meeting, as stated in the official release.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the crucial meeting took place in Beijing on March 27. The MEA emphasized that both parties engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding the attainment of complete disengagement and the resolution of remaining matters along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Western Sector of the India-China border areas.

According to the statement, the Indian delegation was headed by the Joint Secretary (East Asia) from the MEA. The statement further mentioned that the Chinese delegation was led by the Director General of the Boundary and Oceanic Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
