IIT Bombay and Blockchain for Impact (BFI) have joined hands to enhance India’s public health scenario. Given the country’s massive population and complex healthcare challenges, the burden on the healthcare system is constantly rising.

Collaboration between BFI and IIT Bombay is poised to expedite the creation and implementation of ground-breaking solutions. IIT Bombay’s proficiency in pioneering research and product innovation is in harmony with BFI’s mission to enhance healthcare accessibility universally. The CAR-T cell therapy, a product of IIT Bombay, has been officially presented to the nation by President Draupadi Murmu. This significant achievement highlights IIT Bombay’s dedication to leading the way in revolutionary healthcare advancements.

Over a span of three years, the BFI has committed to providing a total of $900,000 in funding to IIT Bombay. This financial support aims to leverage the Institute’s expertise in the field of healthcare technology development, with a specific focus on creating solutions that are both affordable and easily accessible to the public.

Within the scope of the extensive BFI-Biome initiative, a program with a budget of $15 million has been established to promote progress in biomedical research and innovation. This initiative will facilitate collaboration among leading researchers, technologists, and innovators in order to tackle pressing health concerns.
