On Thursday, police officials reported that an ice-cream vendor was fatally stabbed in the vicinity of India Gate last night.
The individual known as Prabhat (25), who works as an ice-cream vendor, was assaulted by an attacker while standing next to his cart on Wednesday evening. According to a police officer, he fell to the ground after being stabbed. The suspect was apprehended by law enforcement after being identified through the use of CCTV cameras located in surrounding stores while attempting to evade capture.
The reason behind the attack stems from the fact that they were dating with the same girl. The ice cream vendor was discovered by the police at C-Hexagon near India Gate while he was in the process of setting up his stall. Unfortunately, he was subjected to an attack during this time. Subsequently, he was transferred to Lady Hardinge Hospital, where he tragically passed away due to the severity of his multiple stab wounds.
Inspector Jitender, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kartavya Path Police Station, assembled a team and initiated electronic monitoring of the girl’s and her relatives’ mobile numbers. During the investigation, the police discovered a pair of slippers at the scene, which were confiscated. However, the deceased man’s mobile phone was not found. Additionally, the police examined the footage from CCTV cameras in order to identify the attacker’s escape route.
The team carried out operations in various locations across Delhi. Prabhat’s family were thoroughly questioned, revealing that the deceased had been involved in a relationship with an underage girl. Police investigations indicated that the minor girl was also romantically involved with the accuser named Ajay, aged 23. Subsequently, Ajay was arrested and Prabhat’s mobile phone was retrieved from his possession. Ajay is employed as a labourer and driver at a tent house in Noida.
