A couple, husband and wife, was captured by police in Udaipur of Jagun within Tinsukia district, in a nocturnal operation. The operation, aimed at Gopal Chhetri, a resident of Udaipur Kuhianbari village under Lekhapani police station, was overseen by Margherita Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sambhavi Mishra (IPS).
The law enforcement unit, based on reliable information and executing a covert mission, effectively captured Gopal Chhetri, who was purportedly engaged in transporting prohibited substances from Manipur for a considerable duration. The confiscated number of banned narcotics, valued at approximately ₹3 lakh, indicates the scale of illicit drug trafficking in the area.
In addition to Gopal Chhetri, the authorities have apprehended his spouse under suspicion of involvement in her husband’s drug-related operations. This arrest highlights the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to dismantle drug networks and ensure that those implicated in unlawful drug activities face legal consequences.
