A girl tragically lost her life in Jaipur during a dispute with her mother over a mobile phone. The mother survived and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
The incident occurred in Mundiaramsar village under Bindayaka police station area on Monday. The girl, known as Nikita, succumbed to severe injuries, and the police have registered a case of murder.
Bindayaka police station officer Bhajanlal reported that both the mother and daughter were discovered injured at an under-construction building in Mundiyaramsar village the previous day. They were transported to the hospital, where the girl was pronounced dead upon arrival, while her mother continues to receive medical attention. The girl’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and investigations are ongoing.
According to police officials, Nikita, who was preparing for competitive exams, often spent extended periods on the phone, leading to frequent arguments with her mother. On Monday, her mother hid her phone, sparking a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation, during which both parties reportedly exchanged blows.
Police suspect that the girl was struck with a heavy object and died from her injuries. During questioning, the woman claimed that the girl had died by suicide. However, police discovered a blood-stained saree at the scene, which the girl purportedly used in the alleged suicide, although no strangulation marks were found on her neck.
Officer Bhajanlal stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination scheduled for Tuesday. Further investigations are underway to ascertain if others were involved in the incident.
