The Mumbai airport Customs department made a significant discovery when they uncovered diamonds concealed within noodle packets and gold hidden among both passengers and their luggage. The combined worth of these valuable items amounts to ₹6.46 crore.

Eight passengers were apprehended by customs officials over the weekend for possessing a total of 6.815 kilograms of gold, which is estimated to be worth ₹4.44 crore. Additionally, they were found to be in possession of diamonds valued at ₹2.02 crore. This information was disclosed in a statement that was released during the late hours of April 22.

During the journey from Mumbai to Bangkok, a citizen of India was apprehended for attempting to smuggle diamonds hidden within packages of noodles inside his luggage. He was later arrested.
During the journey from Colombo to Mumbai, a foreign national was apprehended after being discovered with gold bars and a cut piece concealed within her undergarments. The total weight of the concealed items amounted to 321 grams.

A total of 10 Indian citizens were apprehended, with two individuals arriving from Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively, and one person each from Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok, and Singapore. Upon inspection, it was discovered that they were in possession of 6.199 kg of gold, valued at ₹4.04 crore. As a result, three of them were taken into custody.
