Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, emphasized that under the visionary guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate remains ready to efficiently address any obstacles that may arise. Dubai’s effective crisis response mechanisms were emphasized, with the speaker noting that the city’s preparedness is enhanced by the unwavering backing of both the government and the community.
The formation of a committee has been commanded by the Crown Prince of Dubai in order to promptly assess the appeals made by Emirati individuals who have been impacted by the torrential downpours. This committee will be responsible for identifying the most suitable actions to address these appeals, with a primary focus on rehabilitating and reinstating the residences of the affected citizens. Additionally, Sheikh Hamdan has instructed the Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) to collaborate with property developers in order to accelerate the process of restoring normalcy in all communities under their management.
Residential management companies and real estate developers are committed to providing a range of services without any extra fees, including offering temporary housing for residents impacted by severe weather conditions, distributing food to affected communities, implementing thorough pest control measures, enhancing security measures for the safety of residents, aiding in the return to residential properties by providing interior cleaning services, documenting damages caused by rain within the insurance coverage period, and assisting in evaluating potential risks to properties.
Sheikh Hamdan stressed Dubai’s dedication to aiding those affected by harsh weather conditions, affirming his personal involvement in supervising the execution of response measures. He underscored the significance of on-site teams in delivering effective assistance to all citizens and residents.
Sheikh Hamdan spearheaded the establishment of a committee, under the leadership of Omar Bushahab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, aimed at helping those impacted by the adverse effects of the recent rainfall. Comprising esteemed organizations such as the Dubai Community Development Authority, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Department of Economy and Tourism, the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of promptly attending to the requests of affected citizens. Its primary objective is to ensure that the concerns and needs of the affected individuals are efficiently and effectively addressed.
Sheikh Hamdan praised Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism for collaborating with private sector and hotels to provide temporary accommodation for citizens affected by extreme weather, emphasizing the government’s top priority of citizens’ well-being.
