The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially concluded its investigation into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, determining that there was no foul play involved. The agency filed closure reports in two related cases, bringing an end to nearly five years of intense scrutiny and speculation surrounding the actor’s untimely demise.
CBI’s Findings on Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death
Sushant Singh Rajput was found deceased in his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. Following widespread public outcry and allegations ranging from abetment to suicide to financial misconduct, the CBI took over the investigation in August 2020. After extensive inquiries, the agency concluded that there was no evidence to suggest any criminal conspiracy or foul play in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Welcomes CBI’s Verdict on Sushant Singh Rajput Case
Advocate Satish Maneshinde, who represented Rhea Chakraborty, welcomed the CBI’s findings, stating that the probe had uncovered the “false narratives” that dominated social and electronic media. He criticized the “unwarranted media trial” that followed Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, highlighting that Chakraborty “suffered immense hardship” due to the allegations.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s Father Disappointed with CBI Report
However, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, expressed his disappointment with the CBI’s findings, stating that the agency “didn’t do its job on time.” He remains hopeful that the Bombay High Court will bring justice in the ongoing Public Interest Litigation (PIL) related to the case.
