K Kavitha, the leader of BRS, appeared before a court in Delhi on Tuesday after the conclusion of her custody remand in the Delhi excise policy scam case.
The involvement of BRS MLC Kavitha as an accused has created a sensation in the Telugu-speaking states. Yesterday, Kavitha’s custody under the Enforcement Directorate (ED) came to an end. Subsequently, ED officials brought her to the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. The officials have requested the court to extend her custody for another 14 days, citing the ongoing investigation and the interrogation of several other accused individuals.
In the meantime, as she made her way to the courtroom, Kavitha delivered striking statements to the assembled media. She declared that even if she were to face temporary imprisonment, she would emerge unscathed like a pristine pearl. With unwavering conviction, she expressed her belief that their spirits could not be shaken. Disapproving of the nature of the case, she emphasized that it was not a matter of money laundering, but rather a case of political manipulation.
Kavitha revealed that one of the accused had joined BJP, another was contesting for a BJP ticket, and a third had contributed ₹50 crores through electoral bonds. She firmly asserted that this was a fabricated case and expressed her confidence in her eventual acquittal.
