Five individuals were apprehended by the Bengaluru Police on Friday in connection with the assault on an auditor working at a private company. Among the arrested individuals, two were coworkers of the auditor who allegedly enlisted the help of the attackers to perpetrate the assault.
The police were alerted to the incident when a video of the event gained widespread attention online. A dash cam video, allegedly depicting the man being attacked by two individuals with an iron pipe in public on March 31, emerged on the internet. At first, it was uncertain if the incident took place in Bengaluru or at what time it transpired.
Subsequent to the report, the Hennur police pinpointed the Kalyan Nagar Outer Ring Road as the location of the incident and initiated an inquiry. By utilizing CCTV footage and the widely circulated video, law enforcement officials were able to ascertain the identity of the victim and get in touch with him. Authorities disclosed that the individual, who works at the Heritage Milk product company, was assaulted by two individuals upon the instructions of his colleagues.
Anush Calvin, aged 23, Mutthu R, aged 19, and Sandeep S, aged 35, hail from KR Puram, whereas Vineesh V, aged 26, is a resident of Kalyan Nagar and Umashankar Reddy, aged 37, resides in Kasturinagar. The police reported that the victim had a dispute with one of the suspects, who happened to be a colleague. Both individuals were facing financial difficulties. Subsequently, the disgruntled coworker orchestrated the assault with the assistance of four accomplices.
