Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has unveiled a fresh initiative named “Mission Flood Free” aimed at tackling the persistent issue of urban flooding in Rajgarh.

The initiative aims to enforce comprehensive strategies to manage and alleviate the threat of flooding in the area.

The Chief Minister, in his speech, stressed the significance of tackling the obstacles presented by urban flooding, a persistent problem that has greatly impacted the lives and livelihoods of the people in Rajgarh. He emphasized the immediate need to adopt proactive measures in order to avert and reduce the consequences of flooding in urban regions.

The “Mission Flood Free” initiative aims to bolster Rajgarh’s flood resilience through a series of extensive actions, such as upgrading drainage systems, building flood barriers, and adopting sustainable water management strategies.

The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to giving utmost importance to the safety and welfare of the citizens through investments in infrastructure and initiatives focused on flood prevention. He called upon all stakeholders, which include government agencies, local authorities, and community members, to actively engage in the execution of the “Mission Flood Free” program.
