A milestone was achieved at Hiranyabh Rabha Memorial Hospital and Recharge Institute Private Limited in Dudhnoi with the successful removal of a 15 kg tumor. This ground-breaking surgery represents the first instance in Goalpara district of such a successful procedure for a large tumor.
Dr. Jayakanta Rabha undertook the surgery on a 66-year-old woman who presented with a tumor weighing 15 kg. The procedure took place in Dudhnoi.
Reportedly, prior to this successful surgery, a family member of the woman sought medical assistance from various hospitals, but none could provide a solution for her condition. Recently, a doctor in Goalpara suggested a cancer diagnosis and recommended seeking treatment in Guwahati for better care.
Subsequently, the family sought help at Hiranyabh Nursing Home in Dudhnoi, where they consulted Dr. Jayakanta Rabha and shared the patient’s history. After conducting thorough tests, it was determined that the woman did not have cancer but rather a large tumor in her stomach.
A team comprising three doctors and nurses from the hospital, led by Dr. Rabha, performed the successful surgery, which lasted for 45 minutes.
The family of the elderly woman expressed their satisfaction and gratitude towards the doctors, nurses, and hospital authorities for the successful surgery. They also revealed that the woman had been suffering from illness for 35-36 years. Both the patient’s relatives and the medical staff of the hospital are filled with joy and relief following the positive outcome of the surgery.
