On Sunday afternoon, a startling incident took place where Hare Nath, the owner of a garage, reportedly attacked his employee, Gaurang Mahanta, using an iron rod. This occurred after Mahanta informed Nath that he wouldn’t be able to come to work on Sunday.

Mahanta suffered significant injuries, including five stitches on his head, as a result of a violent confrontation at the garage in Japrigog. According to Mahanta, who works as a labourer at the garage, the assault occurred after he informed Nath that he could not work on his scheduled day off.

After the occurrence, Mahanta filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Dispur police station, providing a comprehensive account of the savage assault. The FIR emphasizes that Mahanta endured not only severe beatings but also endured substantial physical injuries, requiring immediate medical intervention.
An inquiry has been initiated by law enforcement regarding the matter. The occurrence has sparked apprehensions regarding the rights and safety of workers in their place of work, leading to conversations about the necessity for more stringent implementation of labour regulations to safeguard employees from similar mistreatments.
