On Sunday, bomb threats were sent via email to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi and two government hospitals.

The Delhi fire department reported that two hospitals in Burari and Mangolpuri filed complaints regarding bomb threats. Furthermore, the IGI Airport received an email containing a bomb threat.

Police sources have confirmed that an email threat was received by airport authorities at 6 pm. Following a threat call at 3 pm from Burari Hospital, local police, along with bomb and dog squads, were dispatched, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) M K Meena.

“Teams are currently conducting thorough checks at the hospital. No suspicious items have been found yet,” he mentioned. A statement from Burari Hospital confirmed receiving an email threat at 3 pm, stating that all safety measures were promptly assessed and stability ensured. Sanjay Gandhi Hospital also reported a threat email around 3 pm. “Immediately after the call, two fire engines were deployed to both locations. Our teams continue the search operation,” stated a DFS official.

Earlier on May 1, more than 150 schools in Delhi-NCR received similar threat emails, leading to evacuations and searches. However, authorities found no evidence to substantiate the claims, declaring it a hoax. The Delhi Police’s anti-terror unit special cell has traced the email domain to Russia, suspecting its origin from the dark web—an encrypted online platform used to conceal identities and locations.
