The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a series of raids across six locations in Jammu province as part of an ongoing investigation into a Pakistan-backed terror conspiracy. The searches, conducted in Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts, targeted individuals suspected of involvement in violent attacks planned by banned terrorist organizations and their affiliates.
According to the NIA, the raids yielded significant findings, including incriminating material such as digital devices and documents. These materials were seized from premises linked to individuals associated with terrorist outfits, Overground Workers (OGWs), sympathizers, and cadres affiliated with newly formed offshoots of proscribed organizations.
The NIA initiated a suo moto case on June 21, 2022, to dismantle the terror network operated by these organizations and their offshoots, including The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), and others.
The crackdown is part of the NIA’s broader efforts to combat terrorism in the region and prevent disruptions to peace and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. By targeting local youth and overground workers, the agency aims to disrupt radicalization efforts and thwart the plans of banned terrorist organizations to incite violence in the area.
The raids underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region and its residents. The NIA continues to conduct investigations and crackdowns to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent future attacks.
