A helpline number has been introduced by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in charge of investigating the allegations of sexual harassment against Prajwal Revanna. This helpline is dedicated to assisting the victims who have experienced abuse at the hands of both Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, who is the MP of Hassan.
B K Singh, the Chief and Additional Director General of Police at SIT, has disclosed the helpline number 6360938947, encouraging victims to seek assistance and guidance.
The decision is made following the emergence of news regarding Prajwal Revanna, who allegedly departed the nation on April 27, subsequent to the day of voting.
A blue corner notice has been issued against him while inquiries into cases of rape and molestation are ongoing. MLA H D Revanna, his father, has been apprehended and detained by the police on suspicion of being involved in the abduction of a woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted by the MP.
Singh stressed that victims are not required to personally go to the SIT office. Rather, the team will take the initiative to reach out to them in order to offer support and aid.
Additionally, the SIT emphasized the importance of refraining from spreading videos that show the purported sexual assaults on social media or messaging apps. Singh pointed out the possible consequences for those who share such material, as identifying them can be done with ease, resulting in legal consequences.
