The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) issued a notification on May 2, 2024, announcing the revised schedule for the admission process of the HS 1 Year class of 2024.
This update serves as a partial amendment to the earlier notification AHSEC/R&A/ADMN/2020/3/1/978, which was dated April 22, 2024.
The AHSEC has commenced the HS first-year admission procedure to facilitate students who have passed the HSLC examinations to enroll in HS first-year (class XI) at any AHSEC institution. The objective of this initiative is to stimulate and increase admission activities throughout the state.
Students who have cleared the 2024 HSLC examinations are eligible to apply for HS 1st year Admission in different institutions through the DARPAN online admission portal. By utilizing the Darpan platform, students can secure admission in the Science, Arts, and Commerce streams at various AHSEC institutions digitally.
The students will be chosen based on their performance and merit in the HSLC examination. Candidates applying for HS admission will have their fees waived if their parents’ income is below ₹1 lakh.

- Submission of Online Application by Applicants: Up to May 15, 2024
- Preparation of Selection List/Waiting List by the Institution: May 16-18, 2024
- Publication of Provisional Selection List/Waiting List (Valid up to May 30, 2024): May 20, 2024, at 9:00 am
- Acceptance of Admission by Students: May 20-26, 2024
- Confirmation of Admission in “Darpan” by the Institution (Online): May 27-30, 2024
