Switzerland will host a summit on ‘Peace in Ukraine’ at the Burgenstock resort on June 15 and 16, with the goal of fostering a shared vision for achieving a fair and enduring peace in Ukraine.

The summit on Peace in Ukraine, organized by Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), has been declared as a significant milestone towards initiating a peace process amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Over 160 delegations have been cordially invited by the country to participate in this crucial event.

Swiss President Viola Amherd disclosed the summit’s scheduled date on X during a press briefing on Thursday, and warmly welcomed global leaders to attend the summit.

Additionally, the summit will expand upon the dialogues that have transpired in recent months, highlighting the Ukrainian peace strategy and other peace propositions grounded in the UN Charter and essential tenets of international law. “The overarching objective of the summit is to inspire a future peace process,” the FDFA said in the statement.

In order to accomplish their goal, the summit additionally aims to establish a forum for discussion regarding strategies to achieve a comprehensive, fair, and enduring peace for Ukraine, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
