The Northeast Frontier Railway has revealed the launch of a unique single-direction train service from Guwahati to Sealdah. This initiative is intended to reduce the congestion of travellers.
The unique train with the number 05623 is set to commence its trip on the 2nd of May 2024, a Thursday. It will travel through various stations such as Guwahati, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Rampur Hat, and ultimately arrive at Sealdah. Additional halts comprise of Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, Kishanganj, New Farakka Junction, Pakur, Sainthia Junction, Barddhaman Junction, and Dakshineswar.
The train is composed of 21 ICF coaches, comprising of one AC-2 tier, five AC-3 tier, nine Sleeper Class, four General Second Class, and two GSLR/D coaches.
North Frontier Railway (NFR) has additionally declared the commencement of weekly special train services from Guwahati and New Tinsukia to accommodate the increasing number of summer passengers. A special train will operate from Guwahati to Shri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, while another will link New Tinsukia to SMVT Bengaluru. Both trains will complete nine round trips.
Two special trains have been introduced to cater to passengers traveling in AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, and Sleeper Class coaches. The train with number 05636 (Guwahati to Shri Ganganagar) Special is scheduled to leave Guwahati every Wednesday at 18:15 hours between May 1 and June 26, arriving at Shri Ganganagar at 03:30 hours on Saturday.
Train number 05635 (Shri Ganganagar to Guwahati) Special, however, is scheduled to depart from Shri Ganganagar every Sunday at 13:20 hours between May 5 and June 30, and is expected to reach Guwahati at 00:25 hours on Wednesday.
Train number 05952 (New Tinsukia-SMVT Bengaluru) Special is scheduled to leave New Tinsukia at 18:45 hours every Thursday from May 2 to June 27. The train will reach SMVT Bengaluru at 09:00 hours on Sunday. For the return journey, train number 05951 (SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia) Special will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 00:30 hours every Monday between May 6 and July 1. It is expected to arrive at New Tinsukia at 13:15 hours on Wednesday.
