The Indian Army hosted a gathering for ex-servicemen to pay tribute to veterans and brave women, also known as veer naris, at the Tawang military station on Sunday, April 28, as specified in an official press announcement.

The ceremony began with a dignified wreath-laying event at the Tawang War Memorial, where veterans honoured the brave soldiers who defended Tawang during the 1962 war.

More than 150 veterans, war widows, and family members of veterans from various parts of Tawang came together to mark the event and utilize the facilities offered at the location.

The Tawang Brigade and the Station Headquarters in Tawang worked together with personnel from record offices of different regiments to resolve any pension-related issues that veterans could be facing.

Moreover, the venue provided a variety of facilities with the aim of meeting the needs of the attendees. These facilities included Suvidha Kendras/stalls set up by banks to manage pension accounts, an Aadhaar biometric update center, a veterans Suvidha Kendra Tawang, a field hospital, the ECHS Polyclinic, Agriculture Assistance, an NCC Guidance Centre, and an Army Awareness and Motivation Centre, as outlined in the press release.
